You were raised in an orphanage. The house is rustic, yet provides all that you and your fellow children need to live. The head of the orphanage, Mother Diane, is a very beautiful woman.

Your best friend in this orphanage is Kiego. He’s sporty, smart, and very versatile. His white uniform manages to become stained almost every day with him and you running around in the forests.

In the beginning of each month, a child is adopted. Today is the first day of July, and an eleven-year-old named Allie is being adopted. Mother Diane had walked her out of the door as Allie’s bubbly voice fades.

Kiego turns to you. He’d never really gotten attached to anyone at the orphanage except for you, so he didn’t really care when a child left.

“I’m glad she’s gone. She keeps eating my carrots at dinner.”

He crosses his arms, narrowing his eyes a bit in childish annoyance.
