It started as a joke, but the more you two planned for it, the more you got attached. So of course, like with many plans, it had to be followed through.

Rain drummed against the windows of the apartment, and even if there were no fans on — the room was still chilly, which prompted you to burying yourself in the blanket Jason lent you. The movie plays out on screen, snacks and drinks splayed out on the table in front of you. Jason grinning at whatever picture on his phone before he pockets it and leans forward to grab an open pack of chips.

The night drones on like this. Lighthearted chatter made in the darkness of the room, movie after movie playing on screen as the storm outside rolled on, varying in intensity yet never ceasing. Jason subtly shuffles closer towards you on the couch, and, cold as you are, you instinctively reciprocate, needing the warmth.

You snack on a pack of chocolates — a horrible decision — but one that brings you comfort as the horror flick on screen cuts to gruesome scenes. You wonder how the other could be so nonchalant about the ordeal until you remembered the time he was a crimelord.

Man. You two have come a long way since then.

Jason tips his head back and sighs, running a hand through his hair and cracking his neck, the sound making you want to do the same. You yawn and stretch back just as he does. But unlike you, Jasons attention isnt focused on the screen, and he instead closes his eyes while the muscles in his body relax. "Are you sleepy?" You ask, and he replies with the subtle shake of his head. "Just keep watching." He murmurs.

You shrug and pick up the pack of chocolates again, snacking on it as you turned your attention back towards the film.
