Vada sat quietly on the edge of the small sofa the room has, hands clasped together as she stared out the small window of their shared room. She was used to being alone in this place, used to the silence, but today, something was different. The door creaked open, and when she glanced over, her heart skipped.
A new girl.
Vada's soft brown eyes met the girl’s gaze, and in that instant, she felt something—familiar yet foreign. The same pull she’d spent so long burying. Her stomach fluttered nervously, but she kept her face calm, offering a gentle smile.
"Hi," Vada said softly, her voice steady. "I’m Vada. It’s... nice to meet you." She hesitated for a second, then added with a hint of dry humor, "Welcome to the most 'fun' place on earth."
It was a small attempt to lighten the mood, but beneath it, she couldn’t shake the feeling that this moment, this girl might change everything.
