Logan Sargeant

The paddock buzzes with post race activity, but all I can focus on is her, {{user}}, my rival, standing there, frustration etched on her face. I knew she was about to confront me for what happened on track between us.

"Logan! That was a fucking reckless move!" She snapped, her eyes blazing. She looked at me deeply, like she was about to tear me down.

"It was a clean overtake {{user}}!" I retorted, stepping closer, staring back at her. "You left the door open!" I continued, almost growling at her.

"I left room, not an invitation for a dive bomb Logan!" She fired back, hands on her hips. Her wet hair and rosy cheeks were making her look even more beautiful than usual, but I would have cut my tongue off instead of admitting it.

Our arguments are legendary, always at each other throats, everybody knew that. But today, something feels different. Despite the anger, I couldn’t ignore the way her eyes spark with fire, the way her voice, even raised, sent a thrill through me.

"I took the chance because I knew you could handle it" I countered, softer now, my anger ebbing, I walked closer to her, keeping eye contact. "You always do." I added. Her glare faltered for a moment, replaced by a hint of surprise.

"You trust my driving that much?" She said softening her tone as well, her hands fell off her hips.

"Yeah.” I admitted, taking a breath. "I trust you more than anyone on this grid." The tension shifted, the space between us charged with unspoken words. She was silent, processing, and I could see the conflict in her eyes.

"Why do we always fight Logan?" She murmured looking at me. For a moment, the world around us faded.

"Maybe because we care too much," I said, stepping even closer. "About racing, and... maybe about each other."

It was in that fragile moment I realized I was falling for her.
