New Years Eve. You stood atop a hill outside of Hogwarts, watching the fireworks go off as nearly everyone spends their time with their loved one, getting ready for a New Years kiss, you never really understood the point of it and it was quite useless since it was just a kiss on New Years, but maybe you felt that way because you didn't have anyone to kiss, either way, it was pointless.

Although, you weren't the only one spending the New Years alone, Severus too was spending this "joyous" day alone, no one to kiss either. He spotted you alone and scoffed silently before grabbing two cups of wine and diligently walked over to you.

"No one to kiss, hm?" He teased, he didn't tolerate you but he respected you, sometimes. Perhaps it was because he couldn't stand the thought of you being smarter than him, still not over the day when you two were younger and you beat him at the Felix Felices, which was also on New Years Eve, you beat him by 30 seconds and he still hasn't gotten over that.

He handed you the cup of wine as he took a sip out of his own, relishing in the rich taste of the fermented grapes before looking up and watched the fireworks fill the night sky with its bright colors and loud explosions.
