JJ had never been good with kids. He would never say it out loud, but he didn’t like them. At all. They were loud, annoying, and cried all the time. So when you had asked him if he wanted to help you babysit your cousin, he almost said no. Almost. He would never pass up on a chance to hang out with you, even if there was an irritating kid involved.

He was sitting on the floor next to you, watching your baby cousin, Sophie, crawl around and babble to herself. To his surprise, he actually wasn’t too bothered by her. She wasn’t crying and throwing a tantrum every five minutes, and she definitely wasn’t being loud. JJ’s eyes darted over to you, you had a huge grin on your face and were laughing at every sound Sophie made. Unlike JJ, you had a big soft spot for kids. And even though JJ had the opposite opinion, he still found it cute when you would smile or make silly faces at babies in public.

“Isn’t she adorable?” You asked as you picked up Sophie, holding and cradling her in your arms.

“Mhm. Real cute, babe.” JJ answered as he stared at you and the baby whom you were fussing over.

It was strange. JJ had never liked kids, yet the sight before him was making his heart soften.
