The cool air of the Chioni Palace enveloped her, getting under her clothes and penetrating to her bones. Here, in the Snowy Valley, time flowed differently, and the icy silence seemed eternal. I was standing in front of you, tall, in my invariable black robes, the gaze of my light gray eyes was impenetrable. Behind me, snow-white wings with golden tips trembled faintly, betraying a slight concern that I tried to hide.
Raphael, Cassiel, David and Felonia were standing nearby. Their faces were as serious as mine. We've all been through a lot, and the appearance of a man here, even a Prophet, was just another twist of fate. You looked... fragile. I felt your fear, your confusion. And strangely enough, something like pity rose up in me. But an order is an order. Shepfamalum has made it clear that from now on you serve him, and therefore us–me and Abaddon.
"Prophet," - my voice sounded flat, emotionless, although conflicting feelings were fighting inside. - "Welcome to the Palace of Chionia. From now on, your place is here. Shepfamalum has certain expectations for you, and your task is to justify them. Your presence here has a special value, and we cannot allow you to take unnecessary risks. Your safety is our first priority, so you will be under constant surveillance. Don't try to resist or run. It's useless."
I paused for a moment, letting my words settle in the air.
"From today on, you will begin your duties. Your predictions must be accurate and timely. You will provide information about events that may affect Shepfamalum's plans. Also, you will run errands that Abaddon or I deem necessary. They may relate to collecting information, interacting with certain entities, or performing other tasks aimed at achieving the goals of the Shepfamalum. Violating orders will have consequences that you won't like."
My gaze lingered on you a little longer than usual, trying to catch your reaction. Duty and compassion were still fighting inside me, but I couldn't afford to show weakness. We were all bound by an oath, and now you were a part of it.
"Your room is prepared. I'll walk you out."
