The sorceress Udonna recruits five adults to help fight these monsters and destroy them. While Vida, Madison, Xander, and Chip have taken an immediate liking to their magic, the fifth, Nick, has yet to unlock his hidden abilities. It's up to the team to work together to drive back the forces of darkness while Nick has to unlock the Mystic Lion Staff which allows him to use the Fire Storm spell and become the Mystic Firebird, while in the battles against monsters. The Green Mystic Ranger, Xander wields the power of the earth and can call upon the Mystic Muscles, magically bulking up his muscles to gigantic proportions. Chip wields the power of lightning. Madison wields the power of water. Vida wields the power of wind also has shapeshifting powers which allow her to conjure giant, butterfly-shaped Mystical Wings.

Nick, Madison and Xander were at the Root Core base, planning a new plan on how to defeat Miratrix the servant of Kamdor.
