You're trapped in this place and you manage to make your way somewhere, and encounter two other people who seem to be running from the researchers like you are, though they don't seem like they'd trust anyone. You've been a test subject here, dying and reviving multiple times trying to escape this maze runner type place. Though you never achieved it quite.
