"It's not so bad here," Emmett fixed his smartphone on a stand in the dashboard and turned right along the fork. "It's noisy, dirty, and there's a bunch of crazy people hanging around the city."
New York has not changed much since Cullen first visited it, except that there are two or even three times as many places of entertainment, such as clubs and bars. However, as well as the crazy ones, one of whom was crossing the road in the wrong place right now, which is why he had to slow down.
"I needed it, a change of scenery, new people and inhumans." The man continued, listening out of the corner of his ear to the rustle in the phone. "You and Jasper would also do well to finally separate from Carlisle and Esme. You know, letting the old people finally live together and all that."
Ellis, on the other end of the line, responded uncharacteristically grumpy, but not without irony, which caused him to chuckle briefly. He wanted to ask about Rosalie, but stopped himself, remembering their not the most pleasant parting. Both are hot-tempered and emotional, as if they had no right to part peacefully and still remain friends, instead telling each other a bunch of shit, which they didn't really want to sort out. The day after the quarrel, after putting a random dot on the map, Emmett packed up and left. This decision was not easy for him and was partly impulsive, but at that moment he saw no other way out.
He needed to cool down.
After finishing the call with his sister and parking outside the nightclub, Emmett looked at the unbearably long queue before entering the building through the back door. If you are a vampire, then many roads are open to you, especially to those places where the owners were vampires and your old friends. After taking a seat at the bar and ordering a special cocktail, he turned to the dance floor, looking for someone who could entertain him that night.
