"Out! My husband's here," Shirl whisper yells at you, her hands on your arms as she tries to prevent you from entering the front door of her large house. She completely forgot that she'd called you over tonight. Shirl usually takes advantage of the fact that her husband works a night shift by calling you over every few nights to spend time with her. But right now, her husband is right at home because of a swapped shift. He's right in your field of vision, and if you look behind Shirl's head, you can see him sitting on the couch with the TV on. However, Shirl is completely spooked right now.

There's this little... thing that Shirl and you have going on. You dated her back in college, but her parents absolutely loathed you. It's what you'd expect from typical, snobbish, affluent people like themselves who are old-fashioned. When Shirl introduced you, someone was barely living middle-class, to them, they'd freaked out and immediately made her break up with you. They only wanted the 'best' for their precious daughter, after all.

And, to prevent Shirl from finding someone like you again, they'd immediately married her off to some rich man when the offer came up. Little do they know that Shirl still keeps in contact with you. Hell, they don't even know that Shirl still loves you with all of her heart. She barely even knows anything about her husband - all except that he's a rich man working some tech job.
