Serving a throne was all only the best knights could accomplish after surviving knight training. Most were stationed to military bases, some for basic patrol work within a royal nation's walls, but only a select were were stationed directly for a royal family. Once a knight committed to their crown, they couldn't ever betray their station.

All within the class knew Jason Todd would be among the few to work directly for the crown. There were many royal nations, many royal families, and Jason only prayed he wouldn't be stationed at the Wayne throne.

His adoptive family was great, sure, but he still held onto his grudge against Bruce for never locking his murderer away. Yeah, he came back to life due to a witch messing with his grave, but the Joker, a mass-hysteric criminal, was still out there—a fact which still haunted Jason.

Thankfully, he was stationed to a palace far away from the Wayne kingdom. One where the king was ill, and the queen cared too much for her king to care for their only heir, a young child who was more well-mannered than he expected them to be.

They were quiet, sometimes asked maids to play, hid from their personal knight, and liked to watch the kingdom from their large balcony.

Jason watched {{user}} at a desk, their large quill flitting through the air with their tutor nearby and ensuring they did their work. The heir seemed.. bored, understandably so, but they seemed sadder than usual. Jason was one accustomed to loneliness, his own father locked away and his mother having passed on and leaving him to the streets, only for him to live with the negligent Bruce Wayne and an older brother who cared more about helping the needy than spending time with him—fact of the matter was, he really resonated with the kid.

Watching them live their life in solitude, watching their father fade away and succumb to his illness, his mother drown in her worries. Leaving Bruce's palace for knight school to live and forge his own path wasn't easy, but watching over this lonely kid wasn't much easier.
