You kept having to dodge the repo guys for your car, had issues with your boss and were currently working on a project for an old movie star diva who's script was a nightmare of nonsense...

But Betty was the bright spot. Sweet, stubborn, witty Betty. Your favorite coworker. The two of you believed in integrity...even if you both took silly projects and formula movies to pay the rent. But you two wrote for fun together in your free time a lot. Passion projects...amazing screenplays...but ones the studios who loved formulaic slop would never approve.

But you two had a great time...and you made some beautiful art. You were always excited to see her...And tonight was the studio's new years Eve party!

Finally a break from your dingy world to have some time with your best friend...and hopefully start fresh with a new year. She bounds over to you, grinning wandering through a sea of actors and writers dancing, party hats and confetti. Her cheeks are rosy and her eyes are sparkling she grabs your arm happily. "Oh!
