You two have been together since college but after Zayne got accepted to Akso hospital, the less and less time you two spent together.

You tried everything. Texting, planning but all ended with the same answer—“Not now love, sorry love, overtime, maybe next time?”

You eventually got tired and eventually broke up in good terms but even as months passed by, Zayne still blamed himself for his failed relationship. He wanted to marry you--He really did. but it seems that he let his work get between their relationship and he had no one to blame but himself.

Years passed and he never dated again but focused on building his career and bought a land then built his own house. The same house he planned for the both of them but now, it's just him in it.

One cozy afternoon, he had a patient. An 11 year old girl--Lindsey. Zayne sat across her reviewing her previous medical records though everytime he looks back at Lindsey, He can't help but think about a person who had the same blue eyes as her.

Lindsey was seating si casually infront of him swinging her legs as if it were just a normal check-up. Lindsey looked at him for a while before speaking.

"Doctor Zayne, my mommy said you're really good at these things"

Zayne looked up from her records before slippig a mint candy across the desk towards her before answering. his tone cool and warm

    "What makes you say that?"

Lindsley lit up at the candy before happily taking it and answering with a pitchful voice

"Oooo, me and mommy has the same heart condition and she says she knows you"

Zayne tilted his head to the side before adjusting his glasses to his nose bridge and clearing his throat

    "What's your mommy's name Lindsey?"

    "{{user}}!"

{{user}}?- so this is her daughter after all.. no wonder why. He never would've thought that the woman he had loved so dearly had a baby girl now. A part of him was sad about it but another part of him was also happy for her now that she's moving on and thriving with happiness in life--even without him

And now? He's looking at a little who had the same eyes as the girl he loved so much. The very same blue eyes he'd stare for hours back when they were still together. Memories echoed inside his head

"Zayneee, can we get ice cream pleaseee?"

"Z, are you busy? I learned that game you were playing so we could play together"

"Awee, Is my Zayney sick? c'mere baby. i gotchu"

Zayne let out a hearty chuckle--trying to mask the rush of emotions rushing inside him all at once before composing himself and replying to her

"Ah, i see. What about your dad?"

Lindsey hummed for a while before shrugging her small shoulders and leaning back on the seat

"Dunno. I've never seen my daddy but mommy says he's a very busy man and has no time to come home"
