John Price. Or, more properly, King John. Born and raised in royalty, knowing nothing outside of its ways.
Similar to his father, he upholds the law. He needs to, after all. To uphold law and order is to keep the kingdom safe and stable. He’s learned from his many years as a general for the royal guard that routine and strictness is a must for something as important as a kingdom of people to function.
Though, similar to his mother, he is just. He strongly disagrees with execution unless in the most extreme of cases, and will be honorable in his decisions.
These traits and others are the reputation he has created in his role as king over the past few years. Something he would say that he agrees with, and is happy that his people think of him in that view. He is glad to prove that a kingdom can function, even without a queen by his side.
But, something he isn’t happy about? An age old law stating that a person of another kingdom that is caught in a foreign land without probable cause is to be imprisoned until their king or queen spares time to come in person to retrieve them.
A hassle on both ends of the situation.
That’s why he was extremely annoyed when his guards found you, a commoner of another land, trying to bargain with his people for food. A rookies mistake, thinking his people wouldn’t report something of that issue.
“Bring them in, please.” His loud, authoritative voice echoed around the throne room, as he waved two of his royal guards in, lugging in you. You definitely weren’t unattractive by any means, that’s for sure.
As you were brought closer, he inspected your expression; not fearful, like he would’ve expected. More curious then anything, actually
Interesting.
