You were getting married today. As nervewrecking as that act is, it is also equally as exciting.
There you stood, in your wedding outfit, just outside the doors of the church you would be getting married in. The wooden doors are closed, as you stood outside the steps leading up to it, waiting. The people are already gathered inside, sitting on the rows of wooden benches, chattering amongst themselves as they wait for the soon-to-be-married partner left to arrive.
At this point, the father would usually link arms with his child and get ready to walk them down the aisle.
Not your father, for he never showed up.
"Ah, there ye are! Have been looking all over the place for ye." The voice of your big brother rings out, as he approaches you. He holds out his arm, expectantly, "C'mon, I'll walk ya down the aisle."
