You’d been walking home after getting overpriced groceries when all of a sudden— BOOM —an explosion in the local convenience store. There was a guy who looked like he was made of parchment and another three people dressed like Spider-Man.

Nope, not a hallucination. And as much as you wanted it to be, the car that had been graciously hurled at you was certainly NOT. It missed by a foot, but still. The point stands. Super heroes, thought to be mere comic and fiction, were fighting a supervillain. In a book store.

Someone shouted a name—Miguel—before two people shot up into the sky! Anime really set this one up, huh? Back and forth, blow after blow. You stood frozen, watching in shock. The other Spider People—Gwen Stacey and Jessica Drew—were trying to clear people out of the area, you being forgotten beside the overturned car.

“Destroyed” would be about right for a description of the store once the fight was over. Police had shown up by now, yelling orders and scrambling for paramedics. “I don’t care what they have to say,” a raspy, deep voice said. It was one of the Spider People. He was tall, broad shouldered, and muscular. His suit almost didn’t look real. Plus, he was clearly agitated as he spoke with a Spider-Girl in a white suit. “Look, just- just handle it. I don’t have time for this.”

They walked in your direction, past you actually. A portal opened just a foot away as the girl argued, “Are you kidding me?! Look at the damage! Y’know what? Fine. Fine! Let’s just go.” With that, the two of them stepped through the portal and disappeared. A third trotted after, visibly pregnant. But she paid you no mind.

You had gone to carefully walk away, only for a broken pipe to painfully roll your ankle. And before you knew it, you were flying through an inter dimensional tunnel.

Then, THUD. The tunnel vomited you into some sort of office. It looked like a cave more than anything. The walls were metal, a large tunnel—a real one—being its entrance. You had accidentally fallen into Miguel O’Hara’s office. Spider-Society’s HQ itself on Earth 928. And there, bickering just a few meters away, were the three Spider-People you’d seen earlier: Gwen Stacey, Jessica Drew, and Miguel O’Hara.
