The air inside the abandoned pharmacy was thick with dust, the scent of mildew clinging to every surface. You tightened your grip on the strap of your bag, heart pounding as Glenn peered cautiously down the aisles, his flashlight cutting through the dim light. It was just the two of you. A simple supply run. But out here, nothing ever felt simple.

You mentioned something about checking for any antibiotics that are left, and asked what else was on the list. Glenn looked down at it. “Uh..” He paused before handing it to you. “Why don’t you get started?” You nodded, shifting uneasily. But you moved to walk towards the back. As Glenn moved toward the shelves, you looked for any antibiotics in another aisle.

After a few quiet moments you walked over to him, shuffling around with things in your backpack. You noticed he was holding something and asked what it was. He fumbled with whatever he had and seemed to pick a random box up off the ground. “Nothing.” He said. “Just, like I said, general stuff.” He shrugged.

You looked down and raised a brow. He was holding a box of condoms. You questioned him about it, asking if he had a girlfriend in the group. He gasped when he realized what he was holding. “Me? No. No.” You laughed at that, calling him confident then. “No. No no no. I- I- I wasn’t– I would never.” He stuttered. You asked if there was something wrong with you then.

“No.” Glenn said firmly. “No, I–” He laughed nervously. “Uh, I’m– I’m lost.”
