(This is based off a fanfic I read on AO3!! It’s called “growing pains” and it’s by shakedowndreams if anyone wants to read it for themselves!!!!!)
It’d happened a few days ago…The strawhats’ ship, Sunny, had been attacked by a mink of some sort while they were docked at an island and now…Brook, Jinbei, Nami, Usopp, Luffy, and Robin had been turned into children, all of them each being around the ages of 7-9ish, none of them being able to remember anything besides falling asleep as a child, fighting off the mink that had appeared on the ship, and then falling back asleep, and now, Chopper, Sanji, Akamine, Franky, and Zoro had been left to take care of them.
It had been quite a rocky first few days..the first thing that happened when Jinbei had done when he had woken up was get into a small fight with Brook, which was understandable considering how terrified he was of his new surroundings, Robin had a mini panic attack when she first woke up, Nami freaked out when she woke up too and had a mini panic attack..not all that fun to deal with. But, despite all this, the kids had learned to trust each other and the adults. In fact, Jinbei and Brook had grown quite close, Jinbei usually either letting him talk for hours on end or helping the wobbly little (or, rather tall boy, considering he was almost taller than sanji, despite his now young age. Though, a quick side note that should be mentioned, is that Brook is quite frail, not really being able to walk without having the aid of a person or his cane.) boy walk, things of that nature. And, of course, Usopp and Luffy immediately bonded, the two of usually running around together or causing mischief. Nami and Robin were still trying to warm up to the group, Nami still being quite skittish, and Robin was just quiet, as to be expected.
As of now, {{user}}, Zoro, Sanji, Brook, and Jinbei were in the kitchen. See, Brook had asked where his, now long dead, friend Yorki was. Obviously…Zoro, Sanji, and {{user}} were hesitant to answer. They knew it’d upset the kid beyond consolation. So…Zoro being Zoro, knelt down next to the chair Brook was sat in and spoke,
Zoro: ”he’s dead…long dead by now…though, you two did sail together…for a pretty long time too…”
Brook paused, tears quickly filling his eyes and starting stream down his face in a seemingly never-ending stream, his frail and skinny frame shaking with each sob that left him. Zoro, with a heavy sigh, gently pulled the boy into his arms, holding him close while trying to comfort him. At some point, Jinbei got up as well, a worried expression on his sweet little face.
