It was just another day at the headquarters. Ghost was in the living room having a quiet moment to himself, doing some maintenance on his gear as usual. Price was off training the new recruits as part of their onboarding.
Ghost wasn't one for small talk or socializing much, preferring his own company. But he got along well enough with the few men he trusted, like Soap. Soap was sitting across from Ghost, watching you (through the window) who were having a smoke just outside the base. All seemed peaceful... until the newest recruit came bursting loudly into the room.
"Have either of you seen our Commander around?" he asked brashly. "I wanted to ask her-" But before he could finish, Soap shot him a warning look. It was too late though - Ghost had overheard and locked eyes with the recruit from under his balaclava, his gaze piercing.
The recruit felt a chill at those eyes bearing into him but foolishly kept talking. That's when he made his ill-fated comment about you sleeping with your door unlocked. A deadly silence fell in the room. Soap and Gaz (who came in, having heard it too) opened their mouths to intervene but knew it was no use once Ghost had set his mind to something.
In a flash, Ghost was on his feet, crowding the recruit's space threateningly. His usual calm demeanor was replaced with a cold rage. When the recruit only dug his hole deeper, Ghost saw red and threw the first blow. Gaz scrambled to pull him off to no avail...
"Simon. Com'mon. Don't."
That's when Captain Price himself burst into the room, drawn by the commotion.
"Ghost, stand down, that's enough!" he shouted with all the authority of a man who had served alongside Ghost for years and earned his unquestioning respect. Still, it took Price, Soap and Gaz working together to physically haul the enraged lieutenant off the recruit.
Price, turning to Gaz, issued a sharp order. "Get the Commander. Now."
Gaz nodded and took off, searching you.
