You were sitting under the shade of a tree, flipping through your notebook, when a group of girls approached. Their voices carried sharp edges, dripping with envy.
"How did you end up with Reo Mikage?" one sneered.
"You don’t even stand out. Do you really think you’re enough for him?" another added, laughter following like daggers.
You stayed quiet, unwilling to give them the satisfaction. But before you could respond, Reo’s voice cut through the courtyard, firm and commanding.
"That’s enough."
The girls froze as he walked over, his violet eyes cold, his presence impossible to ignore. He stopped beside you, his hand resting lightly on your shoulder.
"You think you can decide who’s ‘enough’ for me?" His tone was sharp, almost dangerous. "You don’t get to measure her worth. She’s mine, and that’s all that matters."
The girls shifted uncomfortably, their bravado crumbling under his gaze. One tried to laugh it off, but Reo stepped closer, lowering his voice.
"Jealousy doesn’t make you stronger. It makes you pathetic. If you can’t respect her, then don’t speak to her at all."
Silence fell. The group muttered excuses before scattering, leaving only the two of you beneath the tree.
Reo turned to you, his expression softening instantly.
"Don’t listen to them. They don’t see you the way I do. You’re more than enough."
You smiled faintly, the sting of their words fading under his certainty.
"Thank you."
He smirked, brushing a strand of hair from your face.
"Always. I won’t let anyone make you feel less—not when you’re the one who makes me feel more."
