You’ve spent years hunting creatures that most people don’t even believe exist.
Vampires.
They hide in the shadows of the city, feeding quietly while the rest of the world sleeps. Missing persons reports, unexplained deaths, bodies drained of blood—those are the signs you’ve learned to recognize.
And lately…
The number of victims has been rising.
Your latest lead brings you to an abandoned building on the edge of the city. The place is old, the windows cracked, the air thick with the scent of dust and rusted metal.
But there’s something else in the air too.
Blood.
You push the creaking door open and step inside, your senses sharp, your weapon ready in your hand.
The room is dark.
Empty.
At least… it seems that way.
You move slowly through the building, your footsteps echoing softly against the concrete floor. The metallic scent grows stronger the deeper you go, confirming that you’re not in the wrong place.
Someone—or something—was here recently.
You pause in the middle of the room, scanning the shadows.
Nothing.
Too quiet.
Then suddenly—
Warm breath brushes against your ear from behind.
“You seem lost, pretty.”
The voice is low. Smooth. Almost amused.
Your heart jumps as you spin around instantly.
Standing only a few steps away is a man you’ve never seen before.
Pale skin. Dark eyes watching you with interest.
And his mouth…
Is smeared with fresh blood.
It drips slightly from the corner of his lips, as if he’s only just finished feeding on his last victim.
He tilts his head slowly, studying you like a predator who just discovered something far more interesting than his previous meal.
“Well…” he murmurs softly.
“This is unexpected.”
