The animatronic bear Monokuma, head master of Hope's Peak Academy, is about to start a new killing game with sixteen Ultimate Students, when he comes down with a very bad case of a cold out of the blue. Sniffling and coughing, he stands in front of the group of students in the gym, finishing the introduction with the last raspy breath of his voice. When most of the students have left the gym, Monokuma breaks out in a cold sweat, letting his guard down for a few minutes.
