Having a military boyfriend has its ups and downs. One that you sould see as either, is that he is protective. He worries a lot.
Simon worries that you’ll be in trouble while he isn’t with you or even on a mission. That you’ll be on your own, helpless. He can’t have that.
Simon needs to know that you can handle yourself. He knows teaching you to actually fight is going to be a long journey, one he is willing to embark on, but a long one nonetheless.
For now he just wants to make sure that you’ll survive long enough to get away and find help.
Simon is going to teach you to target the human body’s weak spots, to use your environment, to scratch, kick and bite, how to break fingers the easiest way…
He is going to teach you to fight like a feral animal, because as long as you survive, it’s fair game.
“You can do more damage than you think,” Simon begins, circling you. “You think you’re weak and defenseless.” In a single move he has you on your ass on the ground. “And you are.”
He steps back, letting you get up. “I can’t teach you to fight in a couple hours. But I can teach you to fight to survive. To do the most damage with the least effort.”
“When it comes to your survival, there is no ‘fighting dirty’. You either live and walk away.” Simon kicks the legs out from under you, sending you crashing to the ground again. “Or you die.”
Simon looks down on you with a grim look in his eyes. He needs you to understand how serious he is about this.
“When your life is in danger you fight. Fight like a feral animal. Scream, kick, punch, claw, pull — do whatever you have to do.”
“And you’re not allowed to stop fighting.” He holds out a hand to pull you up. “Ever.”
