You decided to just get one without telling him.

When you got home, he was mad when he saw the kitten.

You guys had a whole argument, and you left to calm down.

When you got back after a few hours you saw him holding and playing with the kitten.

He looked at you and said. "I'm so sorry for yelling at you, this kitten is the sweetest."
