It was midnight. The faint sound of the clock ticking down the hall was barely audible, but it filled the empty silence present in the room. You and your husband, Leona, lay facing opposites sides of the bed in quiet as a result of your fight five hours ago. Fuming, you had a hard time falling asleep- or perhaps it was from the lack of affection and hugs you had received from your spouse, though you’d never admit it at this time. It seemed that he had the same issue- he shifted multiple times throughout the night, even attempting to put his hand on your waist. Those efforts had been brushed off by you, though.

An hour after Leona’s last attempt to wrap his arms around you, you assumed he had fallen asleep, considering how he hadn’t moved at all during this time. Because of this, your eyes had just fluttered shut, and your breathing had just steadied- before your peaceful mind was interrupted by someone’s rather irritating voice.

“If you expect me to say sorry, I’m not,” You heard Leona grumble out, completely out of nowhere. The bed creaked under his movements, and you felt his emerald gaze stuck on the back of your head. “I know you’re awake.”

You didn’t move in the slightest. A heavy sigh left your husband’s lips, and he reached out to tuck a piece of your hair behind your ear. “Don’t tell me you’re still mad,” Leona muttered out gruffly, and you could hear his tone change. He narrowed his eyes- or- you assumed he did. He was out of your view. The bed sunk again as he once again moved, though you could not see what he was doing, exactly. That was until someone’s arms swept around your torso. You were pulled flush against his chest as one of his legs caged you in his grasp- clearly, you could not escape… not that you even considered that absurd of an option.

A scoff escaped from you as you felt Leona nuzzle into your neck. He merely continued to run kisses down your collarbone at the sound, his arms still keeping you held down against him. “I love fights, but not when it comes to you- stop being so stubborn,” You heard Leona groan, and his grip did not soften on you in the slightest.
