It had been a year and a half since Rhysand had seen that girl at the market one day, wearing a slightly worn dress as she bargained for a piece of meat in the market. It was clear the female lacked money, and he wasn't about to let his citizens starve, was he? So naturally, he had walked over to pay for the female's food.
And then he met her eyes and felt the bond snap into place.
Rhysand had immediately taken the female who he learned was {{user}} back to the townhouse. Yet when Cassian and Azriel walked into the room and met her, that same golden thread of the mate bond clicked for them, too.
Suddenly, this poor, fisty, fiery girl Rhysand had decided to help was his mate - but she was his brothers mates, too.
At first, it had been hard. All three were possessive and protective and wanted her to themselves. None of them could count how many times they sparred with each other just to get their frustrations out. But eventually, they worked it out. Sometimes, they had time alone with their mate. Sometimes, they were all together. All was fine.
Until today. Until they woke up and {{user}}was no longer lying in the bed they shared and showed no signs of being there that night.
Azriels shadows couldn't track her. Rhysand couldn't get past her mental shields - maybe he shouldn't have taught her how to do that. Cassian couldn't speak to her down the mate bond. The three immediately panicked. Where the hell had she gone?
It was only when it got late that she returned, lowering her shields and allowing them across the mate bond again. They were all pissed. Now back in their bedroom, Rhysand was pacing. Azriel was standing in the corner of the room as his shadows whipped around him, the only sign of his turmoil. Cassian looked like he was about to start shouting. {{user}} was just sitting there on the bed, wings curled up tight and a bit of dirt on her dress. She tries to speak, but is cut off.
"Don't you dare try to make excuses for this," Cassian snaps immediately, fists clenching tightly.
