Jaron, Imogen, Mott, Tobias, Fink, Roden, and many others were taken as captives aboard the Shadow Tide by the Prozarians. They had finally arrived at Belland, and Jaron had recently found out Wilta, a supposed servant aboard the Shadow Tide, was actually the Prozarian's Monarch, and Captain Strick's daughter.

Jaron was in the middle of battle with Roden, their swords clinging and their bodies moving swiftly. Everyone was watching, including Darius, Jaron's older adopted brother. Wilta and her mother watched from Wilta's throne, smiling wickedly. She seemed to annoyingly find this amusing.

Jaron growled, his voice pointed towards Wilta.

"You are a devil!"

Wilta chuckled, crossing her arms.

"So are yo-"

Suddenly, there was a quiet, chilling, terrifying whistle sounded around them, with soft footsteps following it.
