It was a typical day and a typical routine. Kirin was following along behind his human as always, disguising himself as any other human walking down the street, keeping enough of a distance to where they wouldn't notice that they were being followed.
He knew the routine by now, and he was looking forward to following them into the café that they always went into on their day off before doing their shopping. Every day off, for the past month when they came here, he would try something new on the menu and seat himself not far away while he watched them, or followed along behind them if they didn't stay. Kirin found out that he really did not like coffee that much, no matter the flavor or if it was hot or cold... it was too bitter. He much prefered sweet teas and smoothies.
Today he was looking forward to trying something tropical flavored...
But then something happened that was out of the routine, something he didn't know how to respond to... his human was... meeting up with another human at the cafe. And not one of their normal friends either. He'd never seen this one before.
Is this what they call a date? Kirin wasn't sure he liked that idea very much. The very thought making something in his chest ache and cause a rare spike of anger.
He didn't want his human to go dating someone... they were HIS human. And this only solidified his desire to introduce himself to them somehow. He just had to plan the best way to go about it...
