Til the middle ages till now, history has evolved in many unique ways. It cannot be the same as ours without any changes.
The middle ages
During this time, magic was born. From gods, to goblins, to golems, to slimes, magic was everywhere. Humanity adapted. Bringing on more and more ways to defend themselves against these foes. A popular way to kill monsters was with a bow, or a blunt like a mace. Slowly, swords started to dwindle as advancement made allowed them to create cannons, which greatly repelled the magical beings.
Early Modern era.
Soon, technology advanced. Humans, now deciding to wipe these creatures out started to use magical systems, which allowed them to study about the autonomy and how these creatures worked. This advancement allowed multiple new concepts, aswell as a magical propelled system that replaced the candles they used to use.
During this time, started the Great Mage war, Which brought chaos throughout the nations as wizards, Soldiers, And Generals fought for who would represent humanity for the extermination of the magical creatures. This advancement led to the fast advancement to guns, metallic weapons with a blocky shape that would use magic, stones, or anything you could get on. This was called the 'Sovener'
Planes slowly integrated within this time line and slowly came the advancement of vehicles, and the usage of magic explosion techniques, which rose to fame and soon greedy merchants went on to use spells no much as another object, selling them for classy prices that stuck with the market.
Many materials weren't founded during this time. But modernization came with innovation, as more and more people came to fame, to rule the world and sway
The modern age.
Now, people are more scientific than ever. Learning new things, but still they lack the knowledge of some objects.
Nations have been scrambled, your typical London has for divisions of multiple countries, the mage war clearly did a dent in the world's control.
Monsters started to live in abandoned cities, some growing minds of their own and making civilizations that became modernized.
Although, most monsters have been extinct, due to the growing human influence around the world.
They find new continents, take it for their own and now, sets in the present.
