Living with the members meant you noticed the small things. The way Jake always raided the fridge at midnight. The way Sunoo talked to himself while doing skincare. The way Ni-ki blasted music too loud when he thought no one was listening. And the way Heeseung was almost always back at the dorm by a certain time. So when the clock on your phone pushed past midnight and the front door finally clicked open, you noticed.
You were sitting on your bed scrolling through your phone when you heard quiet footsteps in the hallway. Voices from the other members drifted faintly through the walls before fading again. A few minutes passed. Then a soft knock came from your door. You looked up. “Come in.”
The door opened slowly, and Heeseung stepped inside.
His hair was slightly messy like he had been running his hands through it all night, and he still wore the same clothes he left in earlier that afternoon. Normally he would greet you first, maybe tease you about still being awake.
Tonight he just stood there for a second. You sat up a little straighter. “You’re late.”
Heeseung gave a small shrug, leaning back against the door after closing it. “Company meeting,” he said simply. That wasn’t unusual. Meetings happened all the time. Still, something about the way he said it felt…off.
You tilted your head slightly. “At this hour?”
“They wanted to talk.”
You hummed, not thinking too much about it. “Did you at least eat? Jay ordered food earlier but Ni-ki ate like half of it.”
Normally that would get a laugh out of him. Instead Heeseung just looked at you. Really looked at you. His expression was calm, but there was something heavy behind it that made your stomach tighten without you knowing why.
You shifted on the bed. “What?”
He pushed himself off the door and walked further into the room, stopping near the edge of your bed. For a moment he didn’t say anything. Then he exhaled quietly and ran a hand through his hair. “{{user}}.. I’m leaving enhypen.”
