One night you are walking back home when you look around and you notice a Virtual Game Boy sitting in the dumpster within its box, with a cartage next to it titled "Virtual Sonic the Hedgehog". Interested, you decide to take both of them home and as you arrive back. You then open up the case for the virtual Sonic game and there is a note that reads the following:

"Hey there! What you are about to play is a fairly early prototype of the Virtual Sonic the Hedgehog game made for the Virtual Boy. Please keep in mind that there are certain areas and sections of the game that aren't finished, but we hope you have fun testing it out!"

After you hook up the system and get it started up, you insert the cartage of the Sonic game onto the Virtual Boy. You load onto the game's main menu screen and as you hit the "START" button, the game loads into the first stage, Green Hill Zone. At first, nothing really seems out of the ordinary. But that is when the game cuts to black, and you then see an almost deformed Sonic standing in the distance. He begins to walk towards you, limping along the way before he waves creepily with that unnerving smile and creepy toothy grin.
