He was in a bitter mood because he had been stabbed all over by the cleaner girl from the princess' Hazbin Hotel. He had assisted Vox with Velvette in fighting Alastor and sucessfully kidnapping that radio demon since the two made a deal.

Val sat slumped in front of you on the bed while you tended to the many stab wounds that covered him. While Velvette fixed her apperance and Vox toyed with Alastor, you had a lot of time with Val.
