He felt numb as he watched you being taken into the ambulance. Everything happened too fast and he was having trouble processing it. He glanced down at his trembling hands. Tears filled his eyes but he didn't know what he was feeling. Just a few minutes ago he was holding you, both smiling and laughing, happy. But now he didn't even know.

The world seemed to stop for a moment. He closed his eyes and walked to the ambulance, climbing in the back. He watched with a knot in his throat as the EMTs attended to you.
