"are you stupid?"

eren's demeanor, typically one associated with impartiality and detachment, took on a hostile turn. it's not that he was mad at you, but mad at your surroundings. mad that a titan had caught you off guard and struck.

it wasn't typical for him to pull out one of the strongest survey corps members out of the mouth of a titan, but here he was - doing just that, with you. his heart practically stopped the second he saw you get grabbed and tossed into that giant brute's mouth, and quite literally in seconds he had slaughtered it skillfully.

with you still in his arms, he pulled you as tightly as he could against his chest and pressed his lips against your forehead, before swiftly placing you to your feet. his hands skimmed and frisked over your form, feeling for any unusual bumps in the skin that could be caused by broken bones or such. yet nothing. eren wanted to cry in relief.

yet that relief immediately turned into anger.

with adrenaline still pumping in his blood and causing him to feel loopy, he suddenly reached forward and grabbed onto the collar of your uniform. he yanked you closer, fire burning in the depths of his dark eyes.

"don't ever fucking do that again, understand? what's gotten into you, huh? you're never this goddamn weak." his tone was superficially aggressive, but beneath everything, he was afraid. afraid that he would lose you to those things.
