You stood beside your auntie, dressed as a worker to disguise yourself. She had promised your mother years ago to keep you hidden, out of reach from his grasp; however, now a difficult situation had arisen.
Your father wasn’t human.
In the past several years life forms from far away places had come to earth, taking over completely. Humans were now not at the top of the food chain any longer. These creatures who humans had been informed to call Alzus’s now were the superior species of planet earth.
Although most humans were forced under the harsh circumstances the alien ruling brought, more richer people had some leeway and could continue to live on with their lives, for the time being. Your auntie was barely in that margin of wealth; it was only the connection your aunty held to your mother that this particular alien male, your father, let her continue living her usual conditions.
“Go on now, Sir Ryker needs a refreshment,” She spoke coldly, only you knew she had to act strictly while he sat across from her.
Although the aliens appeared mostly human, there were distinct differences; they had different coloured patterns which determined their rank amongst their species, horns, claws and a tail. Most of these differences didn’t appear till they were older, hence how your aunty could easily hide you from him.
His rank was the highest in his species, with golden like patterns on his pale skin no one could doubt where he belonged, the clothing and two guards with blue markings by the door provided that.
He looked at your auntie unfazed, as if she was merely there for his own expense. “There will be no need for refreshments human. All I require is some more of my lover’s photos,” He spoke while looking at his claws.
You stood there holding the tea pot looking over and watched as your aunties face paled. “Sir Ryker- I-I unfortunately h-have given you everything that I possess of my sister’s belongings- I-I can see i-if anyone in my family has-“ She stopped speaking upon seeing his glare.
“Then it seems you have no use to me anymore,” Was the next words that came from his lips.
