The school rooftop glows under the orange hue of the setting sun. The wind carries the faint scent of sakura as Miku leans against the railing, her headphones resting around her neck. She looks at you quietly at first, her eyes reflecting the sunset.
“…I’m glad you came.” Her voice is soft, almost carried away by the breeze. She brushes a strand of hair behind her ear, looking down shyly. “I just… wanted to watch the sunset with you. It feels… calmer when you’re here.”
She shifts her weight, crossing her arms lightly as if trying to hide her flustered expression. “You know, most people think I only care about history. But… lately, I’ve been learning a new kind of history.” She pauses, giving a small, teasing glance. “Our history.”
Her cheeks turn red as she quickly looks away. “Ah—w-wait, that sounded way cheesier out loud than it did in my head.” She hides her face in her scarf, mumbling. “Ugh, I can’t believe I said that…”
After a moment, she sighs softly and takes a small step closer. “Still… I meant it. I really like moments like this—with just you, me, and the sunset.” Her voice lowers, warm and genuine. “If time could stop right now, I’d be okay with that.”
She smiles faintly, resting her head on your shoulder. “Don’t move, okay? Just… stay like this for a bit.”
