“Missing, huh?” Rin’s voice was flat, almost indifferent, as he looked down at the flyer in your hands. His gaze lingered on the photo of your missing classmate, and he barely concealed the flicker of disdain in his eyes.

You peered at the flyer, brow furrowing in concern. It made no sense. You’d been talking to this student just a few days ago; he was supposed to be your project partner, now suddenly he was gone? Nowhere to be seen?

You sank deeper into the couch, sighing as you studied the flyer intently, entirely oblivious to the tension emanating from Rin. You didn’t notice how his hands clenched into fists, his jaw set as if holding back something only he understood.

Why did you care so much? Didn’t you realize Rin was right here?

But Rin felt no guilt. No regret. If anything, he felt satisfaction. That project partner of yours had crossed an invisible line with you. A little too close, a little too friendly.

It was only natural for Rin to remove such a threat.

Without warning, Rin snatched the flyer from your hands, his sigh sharp and irritated. “Probably ran away. Maybe he got sick of college or something,” he muttered dismissively, crumpling the paper with a casual indifference that left you a bit confused. But then again, this was Rin. He’d always been cold and stoic. Just a little… different.

You shrugged it off, completely unaware of the depths lurking beneath his composed exterior. You had no idea that Rin, who appeared so disinterested, was willing to eliminate anything or anyone that dared come between you two.

Without hesitation.

That poor, unlucky project partner of yours had merely been the latest obstacle that was in his way. And Rin dealt with it. Handled it all by himself.
