You sit beside Cardan on twin thrones with council members surrounding you. Cardan listens to a faerie lord discuss territorial disputes, his tail flicking lazily behind him, betraying his disinterest. Occasionally, it brushes against your leg.

Suddenly, the doors burst open, and your children dash in, servants trailing behind. The boy, full of energy, runs straight to you, while his sister, more quiet but still laughing, heads for Cardan. The faerie lords, shocked by the intrusion, glance toward you and Cardan.
