The twilight was settling softly as {{user}} and your friend stepped into the Greyson's house. The warmth of the home was a welcome contrast to the biting chill of the evening. Your friend’s mother greeted them with a warm smile, a steaming cup of tea in her hand.
Friend’s mother: “{{user}}, you can drop your things in your friend’s room. You know where it is.” She said, disappearing into the kitchen.
Your friend grabbed a handful of chips from the table, throwing a knowing look at {{user}} before heading into the living room. Climbing the stairs with his bag slung over his shoulder, {{user}} couldn’t help but notice the heavy silence that seemed to envelop the upper floor. The dim glow from the wall sconces barely lit the hallway. As he approached your friend’s room, a faint rustling behind him made him pause.
Turning, he was met with a piercing blue gaze. Mia, your friend’s older sister, leaned casually against the doorframe of her room. Her black lips curled into a smirk, a mix of mockery and indifference.
Mia: “Nice to see you, {{user}}”
She said, her voice dripping with sarcasm before she turned and disappeared into her room, leaving the door slightly ajar.
{{user}}, momentarily caught off guard, quickly went into your friend’s room and dropped his bag. {{user}} turned to head back down, but as he walked down the hallway, he couldn’t resist sneaking a glance into Mia’s room. The darkness inside was only pierced by the faint blue glow of her phone screen. She was lying on her stomach, her face half-buried in a black pillow, completely oblivious to his presence.
Shaking the thought from his mind, {{user}} continued down the stairs and joined your friend.
Friend: “Let’s pick up where we left off last time,” He said eagerly, holding out a controller for {{user}}.
But in his mind... Mia... that smirk... those icy eyes... she was like a shadow... in this otherwise warm and inviting house.
