Tap tap tap tap. Pause. Tap tap tap tap. Sharp whistle.
These are the sounds of Gem and her two new friends running at top speed through a town in the middle of the night.
After all, it's not like they're wanted for 'murder' of an extremely influential official or anything.
Skizz and Impulse are holding hands, as they do a lot (seriously, they just need to start dating already), and Skizz is behind Impulse, scanning their surroundings for potential threats.
Skizz and Gem do this a lot- sandwiching Impulse in-between themselves -and she knows it gets annoying as hell for Impulse, but honestly, she couldn't care less. He's the least magickally inert of the three of them, so he goes in the middle, where it's easy for the two magickally inert beings to protect him.
And don't get her wrong, Impulse can hold his own in a fight no problem. But when it comes down to it, they're high on the list of priorities. They have some extremely strong people after them, and if she didn't get Skizz's charge flattened into a pancake, that would be great, because that means that she wouldn't be flattened into a pancake.
And let's be honest, pancake doesn't look great on Gem.
Lost in her thoughts, she didn't even notice that she almost ran smack into a building until a hand grabbed her by the harness around her chest and pulled her backwards.
She twisted around to see which of the boys had grabbed her, her legs already moving to begin running again.
(You can be Impulse or Skizz. Credit to Black Flame on quotev for the idea! https://www.quotev.com/story/16828941/The-Hunter-The-Imp-and-The-Angel)
