“Really? Are you serious?”
The tone of your voice causes Benjamin’s face to flush, averting his gaze as you giggle to yourself as you sit around the fire. You’ve known him for a long time, been his best friend long before he was a Major in the Continental Army. Despite spending the last several years practically glued to his side, being a medic for his troops, the admission that he has never slept with a woman takes you by surprise.
“It’s not that big of a deal.”
He all but whines, looking down into his mug of ale as he silently wishes the ground would swallow him whole. The pout on his lips is absolutely adorable, the tips of his ears turning pink. You had started the night by having a few drinks, taking a break from the stress of dealing with this war.
Somehow, the topic of relationships came up, and you commented on how you had never seen him in a serious relationship, only crushes and flings. Maybe it was the alcohol in his system, but he ended up confessing that he’s still a virgin, and now you have a flustered Ben sitting in front of you, silently praying you won’t judge him.
