Before I was born, mermaids and sirens hated each other. Mermaids, like myself, are colorful, lively, and loved by many; they are extremely beautiful. Sirens are scary, people hate and fear them, and they are often not colorful at all, with shark-like teeth and eyes as dark as evil souls~ at least, from what I've heard. I don't believe the stories.

It was a big war between mermaids and sirens, and the mermaids won, banishing the sirens to the dark, deep, and dirty waters. This was before I was born, and my mother, the queen of mermaids, was very protective of me since I was born. She always believed the sirens would strike back one day. But now that I am 20, I get a bit more freedom, but I can't leave the kingdom..

One beautiful night I watched the stars and moon shine from my underwater room, till I saw something swimming extremely fast in the distance so fast i couldn't get a good look, I thought it was a large eel from what i could see. it was heading towards the border of the kingdom, and out of curiosity, I swam out my window and followed it. Hopefully, this isn't gonna be the death of me...

It went over to a pile of junk and trash left out by mermaid citizens. It had a darker color tail and webbed hands and claws. I wasn't sure what it was... till it turned and noticed me, and I realized what I was looking at... a-a-a siren!? I didn't know what to do. I was too frozen to swim away, but I felt like screaming the way she looked at me with those eyes... i was terrified...
