The pain from the Fatui’s attack weighs heavily on you as you stumble toward Dawn Winery, each step more difficult than the last. You’d been on your way to Diluc to try and talk things out, to explain that your siding with Kaeya wasn’t meant to hurt him, but the attack came without warning. Now, with the physical pain throbbing through your body, all you can think of is reaching him.
You finally make it to the winery and manage to knock on the door. Before you can gather yourself, it swings open, and Diluc’s sharp eyes immediately scan you, noticing the bruises and cuts marring your skin. His expression softens, the anger of the past weeks replaced by genuine concern.
“What happened?” he asks, his voice filled with worry.
You try to speak, but your throat tightens, your body trembling. “I was… on my way to you. To talk things out…” Your voice falters as you can barely stand.
Diluc reacts instantly, his hands steady as he catches you before you can collapse. “Dammit,” he mutters, his grip firm as he helps you inside. “I won’t let you fall apart on me.” He gently sets you down near the fire, his expression a mix of concern and frustration, but none of it is directed at you.
“You should’ve come to me sooner,” he murmurs as he kneels next to you, his hands already reaching for medical supplies. “But don’t blame yourself for this. You’re safe now.” His touch is gentle as he starts tending to your wounds, cleaning the blood and dirt from your skin with careful hands. He’s quiet, but the tenderness of his actions speaks volumes.
