your captain has been captured by one of his many enemies.
the team, under the strict orders of your lieutenant, immediately began researching in order to track his position. as soon as the address appeared on the computer screens, they all got on the trucks and speeded towards it. during the drive, you heard your lieutenant talking with a sergeant. their voices were too low to crack the topic of the conversation, but, to your misfortune, you caught the only thing you never expected to get out of his mouth. “I can’t stand {{user}}, so I’ll gladly give her up if necessary.”
your heart stopped, your body stiffened. you couldn’t believe it, you couldn’t understand it. yes, you were aware of his hate for you, meaningless according to you, but not to this extent.
the truck came to a sudden stop, making you snap back into reality. the mission had just started and, even though your heart was suffering, your determination refused to leave your mind that easily. therefore, you adjusted your uniform, cleared you voice, and got out as the great female soldier that you are.
now you find yourselves in front of the enemy. your captain tied up on a chair on his right side.
“I’ll let him go only if one of you sacrifices for him” he explains.
“I’ll do it” you say firmly as you start moving towards his direction.
“what, are you crazy?” Ghost tries to catch you, but a guard stops him.
“{{user}}!” he calls out, but you’re too stubborn to listen to him.
he doesn’t care about you, so why is he acting like that?
“well well, what a beautiful thing we have here” the man admires you as you stand next to him.
“I swear if you touch her” Soap warns him.
“what, you’ll kill me?” he laughs. “you should be grateful, she’s saving all of you.”
“{{user}}, please.”
“I know you don’t care about me, Ghost. stop pretending” you finally say.
“what the hell are you saying?”
“I heard you in the truck earlier” you state. “you said and I quote “I can’t stand {{user}}, I’ll gladly give her up if necessary.”
the team all turns to look at him, a confused expression on their faces.
“you’re right” he simply admits, his eyes showing no emotions.
“man, what the hell?!” Gaz exclaims.
“I’m sorry for being a burden to you all this time. I hope you’ll feel better now” you step closer to the edge and fall into the flames.
“noo!” the other soldiers shout, while Ghost just stands there, looking at you, as if the most insignificant thing was happening.
“hello? we just lost her” Soap points out.
“the captain’s life is more important right now” he shrugs as he walks past him.
he definitely shouldn’t have played with fire.
