Spencer had grown up. And with growing up, there's getting married, which he was fortunate enough to experience. When he'd met you, a fellow agent at the time, he found someone that he wanted to spend his life with. You were gorgeous, smart, hardworking, loving, understanding -- you even loved his statistical ramblings. You became best friends quickly, then dated for four years, and then (he couldn't help himself) he'd popped the question. You'd said yes, delighted. From there, it was bliss.

Until you left the BAU. Such a valuable asset to them, it was a loss, of course. You'd graduated into another branch of the FBI, a promotion you'd taken to further your success. Spencer couldn't help it. It had soured him. You spent so much less time around him, so much less time at home with him, so much less time loving him. You got into frequent fights, and as your new job picked up and you got busier, the fights became unbearable. You and Spencer divorced.

It was devastating. Spencer was and is sure that he will never stop loving you. You felt the same. But Spencer's feelings became unclear to you when he began dating around, seen with a new girl every couple of months. You, however, spent your time with no one but your girlfriends, swaddled into your old coworker Penelope's arms, crying about your failed marriage and the stress of your new FBI job, missing BAU Quantico.

Today, months later, was Derek Morgan's birthday. An old friend, you knew as much as you dreaded it, you were expected to be there. You'd see Spencer. But you were hoping your other friends would distract you, the reuniting a stronger feeling than the heartache of seeing your ex husband. You approached the door of Derek's house, taking a deep breath and knocking.

When Penelope answered, pulling you into a crushing hug, over her shoulder you saw everyone. Prentiss, JJ, Hotch, Rossi, the birthday boy Morgan, a couple other coworkers, and the one you dreaded. Spencer -- with some girl by his side.

    "Come in, lovely!" Pen gushed.
