We both know we ain’t kids no more…

You and Leah were childhood best friends. Your parents said that you were attached at the hip, which was kind of true. However, time went on and did its thing, it’s horrible, cruel thing, and you two had s huge argument. It was so stupid that you couldn’t even remember what it was. And, you split apart, and eventually, you moved houses. Life continued, but you still missed her dearly. She was the only true friend you had, or have, for that matter.

But, three years later, you saw her again. Moving back into the area, you went back to the same school, taking the same subjects. And Leah was still there. Even though she was an actress, she still came to school. Of course she did, you knew that she wanted to be a neurosurgeon when she grew up. Not many people did.

You walked into the classroom on your first day back and saw Leah as the teacher introduced you. You saw the flicker of recognition in her eyes and wanted to scream. You’d missed her so much, but you weren’t sure whether she remembered you, let alone missed you and liked you. She could’ve hated you, you had no idea.

“Sit there, please,” the teacher instructed, pointing to the seat next to Leah. “There’s only 5 minutes left of the lesson before lunch.”
