it was a quiet, placid night.
the fire crackled, the bonfire having been set off going for some time now. the survivors from the cabin were all gathered around it, sitting on horizontal logs, chatting to one another in lively nature.
veeronica was chatting to noob.
chance & elliot were exchanging jokes that only they seemed to understand.
shedletsky was joking with his other two admin buddies, dusekkar & builderman, about something or other.
two time was sat at the edge of a log, left out. they were doing something with their dagger, so it seemed.
guest was exchanging horrible dad jokes with almost all of the survivors, yet his gaze kept on flickering to a person in particular. & that person was 007n7.
007n7 hadn’t gotten a spot on any log, & wasn’t talking to anyone. none of the survivors had offered a spot next to them for him, as was the usual with social events like these. 007n7 was excluded from nearly every event the survivors had, like cookouts, barbecues & bonfire nights like these. it broke guest’s heart, seeing the blank look come across 007n7’s face every time he was so obviously left out of events like these. guest couldn’t have imagined how many times this must’ve happened for 007n7 not to even appear disappointed about it anymore, & feel just… empty.
well, he was going to do something about it.
he briefly apologised to elliot, to whom he was just about to tell yet another joke to, before getting up off of his spot on the log. he stepped over it, & just as 007n7 was about to turn to leave, he reached out & grabbed 007n7 by the hand.
a bit too much? maybe. but his handling was gentle enough anyway.
“seven,” he called, keeping his voice somewhat quiet. the smile he’d had on his face from before hadn’t faltered.
“don’t go yet.”
