Things hadn't been great for you recently. Due to Lucy's consistent lack of rent payment, you had been taking up as many shifts as you could to try and cover her share, even doing the occasional odd job when you had the time to make things work.
Unfortunately this constant working and pushing yourself had put a lot of strain on your health. You were getting less sleep, hardly eating, and your body felt heavy and sore all over. But you continued to push your luck regardless.. for whatever reason.
Don was quick to notice the changes: you coming home later and leaving earlier, that tired look in your eyes, and the paleness of your skin due to lack of sleep and sufficient meals. And he wasn't too happy to see it. Nor could he stand back and not say anything.
So, one morning, he decided to approach you as you were leaving for work - stopping you in the hallway on your way out. "Kid, we need to talk." He spoke up, his tone firm as usual but... softer. A bit concerned. "I've noticed you've been acting... different. More exhausted that usual. Is everything ok?"
