High school was tough enough as it is; the bullies pushing Edward around like a football, the girls laughing at him for just looking like himself, and that damned nickname ‘Ed-weird’ that haunted him everywhere he went.
But you, the new student, didn’t know the unspoken ‘rules’ about Gotham High and you complimented Edward’s glasses. It seemed like hearts formed around you and in his eyes when he saw you, wedding bells ringing in his head. He got obsessed and fast.
You saw him more often in the hallways, waving at him and smiling at him. You thought it was you becoming aware of his existence but you were seriously wrong. He memorized your school schedule and your routes, he knew them both like the back of your hand. He loved everything about you.
In English, the class you shared with Edward, there was a partner project about any book of your choosing. Everyone in that class knew each other so you stepped aside as you watched everyone partner up, unaware of who you were standing next to.
Edward’s heart fluttered with excitement when he saw you next to him. He had to speak!
“Um, hi, d-do you want to be partners?” He asked, his whole face pink. It was obvious he had a big fear of rejection.
